Kaunas Photography gallery will participate for the first time in Tokyo Art Book Fair. Usually held in the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, this year the fair will go online and joyfully presents The Virtual Art Book Fair which will take place on November 16th-23rd, 2020.

Each year since its founding in 2009, the Tokyo Art Book Fair has brought publishers, galleries, and artists to Tokyo from around the world to create a platform of innovative expression for all things printed. Its main goal is to create a space where people can discover new art books and meet like-minded people. At the Virtual Art Book Fair, visitors will connect digitally and will be able to visit exhibitors’ booths in order to talk to publishers, as well as participate in lectures, talk shows, etc.

This is the first time for Kaunas Photography gallery to participate in a virtual book fair. By visiting virtual gallery’s booth one can get to know more about gallery’s recent and most notorious publications: Moï Ver‘s ‘The Ghetto lane in Wilno’, Antanas Sutkus’ ‘Planet Lithuania’ and Aleksandras Macijauskas’ ‘Rural Lithuanian Markets’ among many others. One of the Lithuanian booth highlights is the Margaret Lansik’s and Rene van Hulst’s book ‘The Kindness of One’ about the efforts of the Dutch Consul in Kaunas Jan Zwartendijk to save Lithuanians Jews from Holocaust in 1942.
