From 25 November, exhibition of students’ publishing projects is on display at the second floor of the Vilnius Academy of Arts Kaunas Faculty exhibition space (Muitinės g. 2). The exhibition is organised by Kaunas Photography Gallery together with VAA Faculty of Applied Graphics.
The publications reflecting Kaunas Modernism were created during two workshops. The first one took place in 2023, during which the students were assisted in developing their publishing projects by Jerroen Kummer, professor at the Royal Academy of The Hague and co-founder of the design studio “Kummer&Hermman”. The second one took place at the beginning of November together with Miglė Ceinorytė-Mitašiūnė, lecturer of Applied Graphics at the VAA KF. Both workshops resulted in prototype publishing projects that reflect Kaunas modernist architecture, the activities of important personalities of the period and contemporary interpretations of the phenomenon.
The exhibition will run until 12 December.
