The Photography Salon will be open at the Kaunas Photography Gallery until January 18, 2026.
For the third year in a row, Kaunas Photography Gallery is continuing the Photography Salon initiative – a space that opens during the festive season, where photography becomes not only an object of viewing, but also of choice. This is an emerging tradition that invites people to view photography as a long-term value that can be taken home, given to a loved one, or added to a personal collection.
The Photography Salon combines the formats of exhibitions, meetings, and exhibition-fairs, allowing visitors to approach photography not only as an art form, but also to seek a personal relationship with it. Here, photographs exist not only on the walls of the gallery, but also on the horizon of collecting – as objects that can become both part of an intimate home space and the beginning of a conscious visual archive.
During the festive season, a wide collection of photographs is presented – from canonical works of Lithuanian photography to contemporary experiments that expand the understanding and boundaries of the medium itself. The photography salon exhibits and offers for sale works by Violeta Bubelytė, Gintaras Česonis, Vitas Luckus, Ramūnas Danisevičius, Inga Dinga, Romualdas Požerskis, Antanas Sutkus, Andrius Mamontovas, Dmitrijus Matvejevas, Ignas Maldžiūnas, Andrew Mikšys, Andrius Repšys, Donatas Stankevičius, 8ART, Artūras Šeštokas, Virgilijus Usinavičius, Rimaldas Vikšraitis, and other authors.
In addition to original photographs, visitors will find signed books, postcards, and other authentic art artifacts. The wide range of prices allows collecting to be perceived not as a closed and foreign territory, but as an open and meaningful process – both for those who are new to it and those who are already purposefully forming their collection.
The photography salon functions as a living platform for photographic culture, where vision, choice, and value converge. Each visit and each purchased work or book becomes not only a personal decision, but also a direct investment in the continuity of the Kaunas Photography Gallery, its daily life, and its future activities.
We invite you to visit Kaunas Photography Gallery, discover photography that speaks to you, and contribute to the continued existence of this space in Kaunas’ Old Town.
The exhibition is supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Kaunas City Municipality. The patron of Kaunas Photography Gallery is AON, and the main sponsor is letsinvest.eu.
