November 6-10 | Kaunas Photography Gallery Books at Polycopies:
Kaunas Photography Gallery Bookshop will be presenting its publications at the Polycopies international book fair. Every year, during Paris Photo, the Concorde-Atlantique and the Quai de Seine opposite it are transformed for a few days into a huge ephemeral bookshop dedicated exclusively to photography books. Visitors are welcomed by over eighty French and international publishers and booksellers. For further information on the fair, click here.
November 7-10 | Lithuanian photography exhibition at Paris Photo:
Lithuanian photographs from the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the Centre Pompidou and Lithuanian Photographers Association will be presented at the 27th Paris Photo, in the exhibition “The Forms of Things, The Forms of Skulls, Forms of Love”, curated by Sonia Voss, in the Salle d’Honneur of the Grand Palais. Exhibition partners: Bibliothèque nationale de France, Centre Pompidou and Lietuvos Fotomenininkų sąjunga (Lithuanian Photographers Association). November 8 | Conference on BnF’s Lithuanian photography collections:
With more than 1,600 signed prints by 22 Lithuanian photographers active between 1950 and 1990, the Bibliothèque nationale de France is celebrating Lithuanian photography with a day of historical lectures by art historians, meetings around its collections and book signings by Romualdas Požerskis and Violeta Bubelytė. Conferences and meetings will be bilingual, in French and Lithuanian, thanks to consecutive translation. For further information on the event, click here.
Until November 17 | Exhibition “Nonobstant la fuite du temps – Photographie Contemporaine de Lituanie” at the Centre d’art contemporain “Captures”:
The Centre d’art contemporain Captures in Royan is currently hosting an exhibition of contemporary Lithuanian photography entitled “Nonobstant la fuite du temps”. Curated by Gintaras Česonis and Jean-Marc Lacabe, the exhibition offers a dialogue between two generations of Lithuanian photographers, exploring themes of memory, change and everyday life through a unique visual language. The exhibition features photographs by Ieva Austinskaitė, Ieva Baltaduonytė, Donatas Stankevičius and Rimaldas Vikšraitis. For more information on the exhibition, click here.
