In collaboration with the National Museum of Art, Šiauliai Museum of Photography, MO Museum and private collections, research and digitisation of Virgilijus Šonta’s work was carried out in 2024. The digital database created formed the basis for a monograph planned for 2025 and an exhibition at the National Gallery in 2026, reflecting the artist’s entire oeuvre. A documentary on the artist’s life and work is also in preparation, which will allow cinema audiences to get to know him better. These works have attracted international attention, with collaborations with institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. By digitising the works and collecting documentary material, the aim is to reveal the totality of the artist’s life and work and to ensure the lasting legacy of his legacy in Lithuania and abroad.
